Precious Metals
Our gold & silver is completely recycled.
We collect old jewelry and homeware that is melted down, set, and passed through a mandatory quality check to receive its hallmark by the Capital City of Budapest’s Department of Precious Metal Assay.
Copper and Aluminim
We use odd, unused pieces of metal that are collected from local manufacturers who have no further use of them in their industrial processes.
Gemstones
Our gemstones are ethically sourced from around the world. Agnes, Jewelry Designer and Crafter of Zira, has spent much time in Bangkok – the source of many of the world’s finest colored gemstones, and the capital of the international gem trade. Over the years, she has developed professional relationships with and gained a wealth of knowledge from highly skilled gemstone dealers and miners. Her insight and skill in this area is tangible and visible in each of the pieces that comes off her workbench.
Wood
The wood used in Zira’s pieces is reclaimed from offcuts that have resulted from other industries. These are rejected as “unusable” because of their odd cuts and small sizes, but are perfect as a raw material in the process of making Jewelry.
Gift Packaging
The FSC® mark guarantees that all materials come from an FSC® forest, where no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. This means better protection of animal and plant life while ensuring that all foresters have proper training, safety equipment and earn a decent wage.
